NATURA / ARTIGIANATO AUTOCTONO
Natura is a research project investigating the material knowledge and manual practices that have almost entirely disappeared from Val di Sole, in the Trentino Alps. Rooted in an extended study of the valley's craft traditions, the project establishes a dialogue between two endemic materials — larch wood and linen — and the territory that produced them, the communities that shaped them, and the knowledge systems that sustained their use over centuries.
The collection translates this accumulated wisdom into a series of furniture objects whose formal language emerges directly from the technical constraints and methodologies of local carpenters and weavers. Rounded joints eliminate hard edges while functioning as structural connections; linen, an inherently ecological material, accompanies the larch, accentuating form through texture and restraint.
Natura does not seek to archive or reconstruct a disappearing heritage, but to bring it forward articulating ancient knowledge through a contemporary formal sensibility that prioritises material honesty, longevity, and a deep sense of place.
